Piping Project Engineer
The Piping Project Engineer will coordinate technical activities on projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates engineering work; monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and company standards. Prepares designs, calculations, and drawing details of LCI proprietary products and engineered systems.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:- Review job file and client specifications to prepare purchase ready specifications to suppliers.
- Review client specifications, requests for quotes, and LCI proposals. Provide feedback regarding LCI capabilities and highlight required exceptions.
- Coordinate project logistics and communicate timely feedback to Project Managers regarding cost issues, design conflicts, manufacturing problems and schedule.
- Design and model machined components and weldments. Perform engineering calculations to meet industry code requirements. Generate the associated engineering drawing of the model.
- Check the work of other engineers and drafting/design personnel. Provide direction for drafting/design personnel in technical matters.
- Create, edit, and distribute drawings to LCI standards.
- Generate customer and internal documentation including Bills of Materials, Work Orders, Shipping/Routing Orders, general arrangements, calculations sheets, schedules, etc.
- Inspecting progress of manufacture and final inspection of machine components. Supervise the assembly and testing of machinery.
- Write, review and approve operation and maintenance manuals.
- Develops and continuously improves LCI’s standard designs guidelines and model to improve engineering efficiency.
- Is a resource to other engineers for design, calculation, and engineering questions.
- All other duties that may be necessary from time to time outside the normal scope of your job description that will contribute toward the Company meeting its goals and objectives.
Your education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- Must have 2 plus years of experience in processing piping skid design.
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledgeable in industry standards such as ASME Section VIII, div. 1, ASME B31.3, and AWS D1.1.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient with CAD and Inventor Work software.
