Job SummaryThe Charge Nurse is responsible for implementing the plan of care for each Sister, providing high‑quality clinical services, and supervising CNAs, NAs, and HHAs on duty. This role requires leadership, clinical expertise, and a compassionate approach to care.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide person‑centered care focused on wellness, comfort, and dignity.
Administer medications and treatments according to professional nursing standards and departmental policies.
Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and condition changes.
Supervise, delegate, and educate CNAs, NAs, and HHAs to ensure thorough and compassionate care.
Assist Sisters with daily living activities including dressing, bathing, grooming, ambulation, and meals.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control, and end‑of‑life care practices.
Coordinate and accompany Sisters to medical appointments and therapies.
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates to the Clinical Manager.
Participate in staff orientation, training, and continuing education.
Support Activities and Enrichment programming for Sisters.
Qualifications RequiredMinimum of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with valid state license.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum 2 years of experience in nursing, preferably with geriatric or dementia care.
Experience supervising or delegating care to others.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
PreferredExperience in healthcare or residential care settings.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Use of proper body mechanics and safety equipment for resident care.
