Description
Position Summary:The Quality Technician ensures aerospace textile products meet strict customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards. This role supports inspection, testing, calibration, and documentation processes for high-performance fabrics, seals, and preforms, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance (e.g., AS9100), and continuous improvement.
Shift: Day Shift
Key Responsibilities:- Perform daily fabric testing (e.g., punch testing) and record results in ERP system (Syteline)
- Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections of materials and finished goods
- Review and digitally track loom inspection data and defects
- Verify job setups and approve production readiness
- Maintain nonconformance logs and control nonconforming materials
- Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping in compliance with quality standards
- Perform in-house calibration of inspection tools and maintain calibration records
- Coordinate external calibrations and support out-of-tolerance investigations
- Conduct internal audits (workstation, FOD) and issue corrective actions (CARs)
- Review shipping documentation for accuracy and traceability
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and compile First Article inspection Reports (FAIRs)
- Verify employee training and maintain compliance records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred
- 2+ years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing (aerospace or textiles preferred)
- Familiarity with AS9100/AS9102 standards is a plus
- Experience with ERP Systems (Syteline or similar)
- Ability to read technical documents, drawings, and specifications
- Proficient with inspection tools and measurement equipment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of textile inspection and material testing methods
- Understanding of calibration and quality systems
- Problem-solving and analytical ability
- Effective communication and teamwork
