Position

The Senior Director, Commercial – Isotopes is a senior commercial executive responsible for building, scaling, and leading North Star’s isotope business as a durable growth engine. This role owns the commercial strategy, revenue performance, and long-term value creation of the isotope portfolio, spanning diagnostic, therapeutic, and emerging nuclear medicine applications.

This leader will operate with a general manager mindset—balancing near-term revenue delivery with long-range strategic positioning, production capacity optimization, pricing discipline, and portfolio prioritization. The role requires strong business judgment, comfort navigating ambiguity, and the ability to make informed trade-offs in a capital- and capacity-constrained environment.

Responsibilities

Commercial Growth, Strategy & Business Ownership:

  • Own full revenue forecast and accountability for the isotope production portfolio, including revenue growth, pricing discipline, margin performance, and long-range pipeline health.
  • Develop and execute multi-year commercial strategies (3–5 year horizon) aligned with enterprise priorities, capital investments, and capacity expansion plans.
  • Translate corporate strategy into actionable market segmentation, account prioritization, and investment decisions.
  • Lead executive-level relationships across pharmaceutical, radiopharmacy, and other customers, serving as a trusted commercial and strategic partner—not just a commodity provider.
  • Apply market intelligence, competitive analysis, and customer insights to inform where to play / how to win decisions across diagnostic, therapeutic, and other isotope segments.
  • Make data-driven recommendations on isotope development, production allocation, and partnership opportunities, including evaluating strategic fit, supply chain risk, regulatory complexity, and long-term return on investment.

Deal Leadership, Contracting & Commercial Excellence:

  • Lead complex, high-value negotiations for long-term supply agreements, framework pricing arrangements, distribution partnerships, and security-of-supply commitments.
  • Establish and enforce value-based pricing strategies that reflect isotope scarcity, production constraints, regulatory compliance, and differentiated product quality.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to assess deal economics, risk exposure, and downstream execution implications before commitments are made.
  • Own pipeline governance: ensure forecasting accuracy, scenario planning, and clear articulation of upside, downside, and execution risk.
  • Prepare executive-level materials and recommendations for leadership decision-making, including deal approvals, prioritization conflicts, and investment trade-offs.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Enterprise Execution:

  • Act as the commercial integrator across Technical Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and Program Management.
