Senior Project Manager (Commercial/Industrial Construction)
I'm partnering with a well-established commercial/industrial general contractor seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This individual will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee full project lifecycle including budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and quality execution
- Lead pre-construction efforts, bid preparation, and proposal delivery
- Run project kickoffs, secure permits, and coordinate inspections with governing authorities
- Ensure subcontractor contracts are executed (target: 90% within 30 days of owner contract)
- Maintain strong communication with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams
- Manage schedules, weekly reporting, cost projections, and invoice approvals
- Issue and track RFIs, RFPs, and change orders
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure progress, safety, and quality standards are met
- Resolve project issues proactively and escalate when needed
- Lead and mentor Project Managers and field teams; support performance management and training
- Assist with client presentations and help identify new business opportunities
What They're Looking For:
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 7-10+ years managing commercial/industrial construction projects
- Strong experience with drawings, specs, budgeting, scheduling, and contract management
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and drive performance
- Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and inspection requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Viewpoint Vista is a plus)
- OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain), plus additional safety certifications within the first year
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel as needed with a valid driver's license
