Director of Clinical Training, Core Faculty and Clinical Coordinator

The opportunity

Beloit College invites applications for a founding core faculty member who will also serve as Clinical Coordinator (Director of Clinical Training) for its new Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program. This is an opportunity to build the program's clinical training infrastructure from the ground up and to establish the practicum and internship partnerships, structures, and culture that will define students' transition from classroom to practice at a liberal arts institution that genuinely values faculty expertise and intellectual vision.

We are seeking a counselor educator who understands that clinical training is where professional identity, ethical practice, and community-responsive counseling come together. This person will carry the responsibilities of a core faculty member and, in addition, lead the coordination of the program's practicum and internship experiences.

The program's animating commitments include: social justice as a foundational orientation, embedded throughout the curriculum and clinical training; attention to underserved communities and the mental health workforce needs of south-central Wisconsin and the broader region, including Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison; interprofessional and interdisciplinary education, consistent with Beloit's institution-wide pedagogical identity; and community-based, experiential learning as a core program feature.

This position is a core counselor education faculty member, as defined under the 2024 CACREP Standards, who additionally serves as the program's practicum and internship coordinator. This is a 12-month faculty position with teaching, advising, scholarship, and service responsibilities, plus dedicated responsibility and support for clinical coordination. The position reports to the CMHC Program Director.

• Serve as the program's practicum and internship coordinator, responsible for the coordination of practicum and internship experiences in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling specialized practice area
• Establish, formalize, and sustain clinical site partnerships and affiliation agreements across the region to ensure sufficient, high-quality placements for all students
• Recruit, orient, evaluate, and support site supervisors, including verifying supervisor qualifications and providing supervisor training consistent with CACREP requirements
• Manage student placement, clinical documentation, liability and site requirements, and respond to inquiries regarding practicum and internship
• Monitor student progress in field experiences and coordinate clinical gatekeeping with program faculty

• Teach across the CMHC curriculum in areas of professional expertise, including clinical and skills coursework
