Description
SHINE Technologies is seeking a CGD Engineer who will support the development and execution of Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) plans, qualification plans, and receipt inspection activities for items procured in support of constructing the Chrysalis, a first-of-a-kind medical isotope facility located in Janesville, WI. This is an on-site individual contributor position effective through the operational phase of the Chrysalis.
Duties And Responsibilities- Develop and provide reviews of CGD plans to qualify commercial items for QL-1 applications.
- Develop and provide reviews of qualification plans, considering the electrical, radiological, and seismic effects for items being qualified.
- Interface with Engineering organization to identify safety functions, failure modes, and use case of items.
- Interface with Project Management and Construction organizations to understand how procurement engineering tasks affect installation dates.
- Support development of procurement strategies with Engineering and other Procurement staff, including development of requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Complete commercial grade surveys of vendors, as required.
- Generate Over, Short, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports as required.
- Generate nonconformance reports (NCRs) as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or other technical field
- 3-5 years’ experience in related field
- Experience in commercial grade dedication (EPRI NP5652)
- Understanding of ASME NQA-1 requirements
- Experience in equipment qualification
- Experience in seismic qualification testing preferred
- Instrumentation & control and electrical systems preferred
- Understanding of nuclear facility principles and operation
- Ability to develop strong vendor relationships
- Ability to work accurately and independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 software
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls.
