Position Summary
We are seeking a Welding Engineer to support manufacturing operations through the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of welding processes. This role will work closely with production, quality, engineering, and operations teams to ensure welding procedures meet safety, quality, productivity, and customer requirements.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with welding technologies, process improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and manufacturing support within a fabrication or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, qualify, and improve welding procedures and manufacturing processes
- Provide technical support for production welding operations
- Investigate weld defects and implement corrective actions
- Troubleshoot welding equipment, materials, and process issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on new product introductions and process development
- Create and maintain welding documentation, work instructions, and technical specifications
- Support fixture design and tooling improvements
- Analyze production data and recommend process enhancements
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and quality requirements
- Assist with employee training related to welding procedures and best practices
- Support capital equipment evaluations and implementation projects
- Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
- Experience supporting welding operations in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of MIG, TIG, Resistance, Robotic, or Automated Welding Processes
- Experience with weld procedure development and qualification
- Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork abilities
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng)
- Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, or pressure vessel applications
- Knowledge of AWS and/or ASME welding codes
- Experience with robotic welding, laser welding, or advanced joining technologies
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience
