Controls Engineer – Automation & Systems Integration

If you’re a controls engineer who enjoys taking projects from concept through commissioning and wants to work on varied, custom automation systems—this could be a strong fit.
Our client is a well-established, family-owned automation integrator (in business since 1944) delivering turnkey and custom solutions across multiple industries. Their engineers are hands-on and involved in the full lifecycle and not siloed into one phase.
What you’ll be doing :- Design and develop control systems for automated equipment
- Program PLCs (primarily Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley) and develop HMI applications
- Lead system testing, troubleshooting, and on‑site commissioning (~25% travel)
- Work across full lifecycle: design → integration → startup
- Interpret schematics, drawings, and system layouts
- Bachelor’s in Engineering or 5+ years of relevant experience
- PLC programming experience (Rockwell preferred), HMI, SCADA exposure
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and industrial automation environments
- Understanding of NEC and UL 508A
- Diverse, custom projects (not repetitive work)
- Strong ownership and autonomy
- Stable, long‑standing company with a solid reputation
- Collaborative, hands‑on engineering team
