SCOPE OF ROLE The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety. This role bridges engineering and production teams to ensure optimal use of equipment, materials, and labor. The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting new product, equipment, and capability introductions, as well as resolving technical issues related to manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Engineer I
  • Focus:
    Execution under guidance, Support, and learning
  • Support existing manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency targets are met
  • Assist in developing and maintaining work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation
  • Perform basic data collection and analysis on production performance (scrap, cycle time, downtime)
  • Participate in troubleshooting production issues and assist with root cause analysis
  • Help implement process improvements under guidance from senior engineers
  • Support new product introductions by assisting with process setup and documentation
  • Coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve day-to-day manufacturing issues
  • Assist in time studies and workflow analysis to identify improvement opportunities
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in all assigned tasks
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Manufacturing Engineer II
  • Focus:
    Ownership of processes and independent problem-solving
  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for production issues
  • Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions and process flows
  • Analyze production data and drive improvements in KPIs such as throughput, scrap, and downtime
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Manage tooling, fixtures, and equipment selection to meet production requirements
  • Support new product launches, including process validation and production readiness
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality, and operations teams
  • Provide technical guidance and training to operators and junior engineers
  • Participate in capital equipment justification and implementation
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Manufacturing Engineer III (Senior)
  • Focus:
    Strategy, leadership, creation, and complex problem-solving
  • Lead the design and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes and systems
  • Drive plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction strategies
  • Serve as technical expert for complex manufacturing challenges and process optimization
  • Lead major capital projects, including equipment selection, layout, installation, and commissioning
  • Develop long-term manufacturing strategies, including automation and capacity planning
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff
  • Influence product design through Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles
  • Lead cross-functional teams for new product introductions and process standardization
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics, driving accountability across teams
  • Collaborate with suppliers and external partners on advanced manufacturing solutions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and industrial automation
  • Hands‑on experience providing support for equipment and automated machinery
  • Working experience with CAD software (Inventor and AutoCAD preferred)
  • Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and router creation preferred
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets
  • Ability to handle conflict and respond professionally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead and teach diverse teams
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms
  • Excellent organizational skills
