We're recruiting for a temp-to-hire Utilities Assistance Specialist for a community-focused non-profit organization in Wisconsin working with your local utility company. If you are motivated by helping others and enjoy a role where your communication skills make a direct impact on individuals in need, this is an ideal opportunity. As a key member of the intake team, you will help local residents navigate essential energy assistance programs and provide the guidance they need to achieve long-term stability.

• $20.00 per hour
• Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with extended hours until 6:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Office is located in Beloit.

• Greet clients in person and over the phone to provide a warm and helpful experience
• Process applications and conduct intake interviews to determine eligibility for assistance programs
• Schedule appointments for multiple county offices and manage a high volume of calls
• Answer questions regarding program requirements and refer complex inquiries to the appropriate staff
• Assist with community outreach events to share information about available services
• Keep accurate records and perform routine clerical tasks to support the operations team

Working hours:

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• Previous experience in a non-profit or social services setting is a plus

High School

1-4 years

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient math and computer skills for processing applications and data entry
• Previous experience in a call center environment or professional office
• A patient, outgoing personality with a genuine interest in helping low-income populations
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Comfort working in a busy front-desk and phone-based environment
