ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs assessment of injury or condition and takes appropriate follow up steps to ensure safe and proper care
- Prescribes routine, preventive and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles, increase balance and improve flexibility
- Provide practice, game/event coverage for assigned area
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide assessment, stabilization and first aid
- Make recommendations for athletic participation and return to sport guidelines
- Complete accurate documentation of assessment and referrals
- Refer athletes to physician for continued care per protocol
- Perform manual techniques and utilize taping and bracing to relieve symptoms and improve function
- Collaborate with sports medicine providers, physicians and other allied health professionals
- May work in a clinic setting with physician or under the direction of a physical therapist

Graduate of an accredited school of Athletic Training
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE- Licensed as an athletic trainer in WI, IL or both if required
- CPR/BLS required within 30 days of hire
- BOC certification
- Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested
- Have/maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth s HR-01-Fleet Safety policy
Passing the Driver s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring).
Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check.
Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.
