Beloit Health System is looking to add an MRI Technologist to our Team
- Shift: 1st & 2nd shift combination
- Schedule:
6:30 am - 9:00 pm (8-hour shifts within this timeframe) - Hours per week: 24

Provides patient services using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician. Performs radiographic and other related imaging procedures, producing images for interpretation by a physician. Applies principles of magnetic safety. Evaluates radiographic images for technical quality. Exercises professional judgement in the performance of procedures. Provides patient care essential to radiographic procedures.
- Performs diagnostic radiographic service
- Greets customers in a friendly, but professional manner
- Ensures proper patient identification
- Operates imaging equipment
- Operates other equipment/devices as appropriate
- Positions and immobilizes patient as necessary
- Selects and/or calculates technical factors
- Applies principles of magnetic safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others
- Evaluates radiography for technical quality
- Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures
- Practices aseptic technique as necessary
- Administers or assists with administration of contrast media, as required
- Initiates basic life support procedures for patients if necessary
- Ensures proper documentation of exam, technical factors, film usage, quality improvement, etc.
- Performs quality control checks as required
- Participates in the "on-call" program
- Maintains accurate patient records and files with confidentiality
- Assumes responsibility for assigned area ensuring the work area is neat, orderly, and stocked
- Assumes responsibility for portions of department QA/QC program
- Supervises, assists, instructs, and communicates effectively with radiology students
- Assists in aspects of patient care including transportation, film, EMR and PACs functions
- Provides input for equipment and supply decisions
- Detects, reports to supervision, and contacts repair person for equipment malfunctions. Assumes responsibility for portions of department quality assurance and improvement program

- Graduate of an AMA‑accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT registration in Radiology and MRI certification within 18 months of hire or transfer
- CPR certification
- Maintains 12 ECE hours per year or 24 every 2 years as required by ARRT.
- Employee possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform one or more of the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and/or patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
- Reporting Relationship:
Director of Medical Imaging, Clinical advisement is received from the Radiologist - Personal protective equipment required, such as radiation monitoring film badge, lead aprons, lead glasses, lead gloves, thyroid collars, goggles, gloves, gowns, masks, face shields, and CPR mask
- Must adhere to established health system and Medical Imaging department policies, rules and regulations
- Maintains ethical conduct and keeps confidential personal and medical information about patients
