Beloit Health System is seeking a Per Diem Clinical Dietitian to join our Nutritional Support Services Department at Beloit Memorial Hospital. This position provides professional nutritional assessment, counseling, and support to patients while collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal patient outcomes.

In this position the Per Diem - Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing general and specialized nutrition care for all patients both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
In this position the Clinical Dietitian will:- Assess patients' nutritional status and develop, implement, and monitor individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) plans.
- Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients identified as being at nutritional risk through established Nutrition Screening Protocols.
- Evaluate patients requiring enteral and parenteral nutrition and provide recommendations to ensure nutritional needs are appropriately met.
- Document nutrition assessments, interventions, recommendations, and outcomes accurately within the electronic medical record.
- Respond to physician consults and referrals regarding patient nutrition concerns and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to communicate patient nutrition status and tolerance to prescribed nutrition therapies.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient nutrition counseling and education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
- Develop and deliver nutrition-related education and in-service training for dietary staff and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Review and modify patient menus to ensure compliance with current standards of care, physician orders, and the approved diet manual.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities within the department.
- Assist with weekend coverage and provide on-call support as assigned.
- Participate in interdisciplinary discharge planning rounds to support continuity of care and successful patient transitions.
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
- Credentialed as an RD/RDN by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Certified in the state of Wisconsin by Dietitians Affiliate Credentialing Board (within 6 months of hire).
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary principles and familiarity with medical terminology common to nutrition.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Flexibility to participate in a weekend and holiday rotation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Possess the training, knowledge and skills necessary to perform one or more of the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and/or patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
