Beloit Health System is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at the Beloit Clinic West Side Clinic

As a Medical Assistant
, you will support physicians and other licensed healthcare professionals while ensuring a positive patient experience. Responsibilities include both clinical and administrative duties that contribute to quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.
- Prepare patient documentation and medical records before appointments
- Escort patient to room, obtains vitals and updates medical record, which would include a brief medical history or chief complaint, current medication, allergies, smoking status, pain status, immunization status, and all meaningful use data collection.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Verify and document procedure consents
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications as ordered and accurately document treatment
- Assist with diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Support patient and family education
- Adhere to infection control and patient safety standards
- Complete prior authorizations and pre-certifications
- Process patient forms, including FMLA, short-term disability, and long-term disability paperwork
- Manage medication refill requests according to established protocols
- Handle and triage phone calls under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records
- Order and maintain clinical supplies
- Clean and stock exam rooms
- Participate in quality improvement activities and department initiatives
- Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) at the time of hire
- CPR certification within three months of hire
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care
- Experience in Family Practice preferred with experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Two years of clinical experience preferred
