Job Description

Responsible to the Human Resources Manager for the coordination of HR administrative duties that include benefits, safety, wellness and the recruitment program. Team Member is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll deduction and benefits processing, employee recruitment and on-boarding with a focus on cultural inclusion. Team Member must ensure compliance with all applicable laws. Team Member will possess creativity, outstanding interpersonal skills, attention to detail and a commitment to professional ethics.

Team Member will exercise independent judgment and initiative in daily work activities while adhering to and supporting agency policies and procedures.

Human Resource Operations
  • Assist Human Resources Manager in the day-to-day tasks such as employment verifications of past and present employees, payroll deductions, and maintaining confidential information related to human resource issues, including performance evaluations, discipline records, payroll deductions, medical files, and affirmative action reports.
  • Collaborates with management team regarding recruitment, interviewing, screening and on boarding of new staff.
  • Coordinate with Human Resource Manager on new employee orientations and completing paperwork for employee files.
  • Maintain HRIS system in a timely manner.
  • Advance CAI’s efforts in building and maintaining an inclusive workplace.
  • Serve as central liaison to agency regarding safety and wellness programs.
  • Collaborate with program managers and directors regarding placement of volunteers within the agency.
  • Determine eligibility for benefits and coordinate enrollment, changes, and termination processes.
  • Review and code invoices for insurance premiums and other HR related accounts payables to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Determine Personal Time, Holiday and Funeral pay eligibility and availability. Maintain records of personal time used.
  • Provide timely communication to employees on benefits, personnel policies and procedures, etc.
  • Support the processing of bi-weekly payroll.

  • Assist the Director of Finance and Human Resource Manager in conducting research and compiling information for special projects as requested.
  • Complete related work as assigned within the scope of responsibility and skills required for the job.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Associate degree in Business Administration or Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one year Human Resources experience required.
  • Paid work experience may be substituted for degree at the discretion of the Employer.
Language Skills
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
