T Operations Engineer
T Operations Engineer is responsible for provisioning, installing, upgrading, configuring and maintaining third-party applications along with production and non-production environments. He/she is the technical SME for those third-party applications. Will also be responsible for supporting the IT Application Maintenance Manager in documenting, updating, and publishing key processes and documentation.
Responsibilities:Ideation Phase
• Build and prepare prod and non-prod environments based on project needs, including data integrity and integrations.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner and Architect to determine required updates/patches for third-party applications (OnBase, Bill Trust, eDelivery, Vendavo, etc).
• Ensure data integrity and quality in each environment.
• Evaluate existing monitoring toolset and recommend new, potential tools (PTRG, Dynatrace, JAMs, Splunk, etc).
• Regularly work with the Operations Support Application Manager and Operations Support Senior Manager to plan and document key goals, objectives, and initiatives.
• Support coordination efforts within the team and other teams (both internal and external).
• Document, update and publish environment inventory, availability, and schedule.
Project Delivery Phase
• Deploy, install, upgrade and configure third party applications in all ABC Supply owned environments.
• When applicable, coordinate with the Managed Service Partner for configurations and technical details for non-ABC accessible environments.
• Ensure QA, UAT and Training environments are available in a timely manner (including data integrity and integrations).
• Manage prod and non-prod environments, including overseeing deleting/updating outdated environments and ensuring data is updated proactively.
• Implement automation scripts (SQL) for system updates and project deployments.
• Support coordination efforts with other project teams and vendors.
• Maintain the required inventory of tools for the practice.
• Maintain and document third-party application details (such as last update, configuration details) in Application Performance Management (APM).
• Create and document any required change management documentation to support the team prior to deployments.
• Assist in implementing new processes, change management, and problem management.
• Successfully complete imports/exports, SQL query investigations, data restores, application support, restarting services, log files, etc.
Pilot / Rollout / Post-Production Phases
• Provide Level 3 operational support for third-party applications.
• Continually look for opportunities for automation and improvement for prod and non-prod environment management.
• Provide reporting and analysis on service, usage, and availability.
• Attend Change Management meetings, document requests/updates/feedback and inform the team accordingly.
• Document and publish required documentation for service operations.
• Analyze data and generate reports of the performance of service operations functions.
• Troubleshoot performance issues related to the database ecosystems.
Education/Experience Requirements:- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience.
- T-SQL using SQL Server Management Studio SSMS.
- SQL Server Integration Services SSIS package troubleshooting.
- Ideal candidate will have experience analyzing, supporting, and troubleshooting applications for an enterprise at a level 3 function.
- Candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and should be comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization.
- Candidate should operate autonomously requiring little direction from the manager on daily tasks.
- SharePoint experience is nice to have.
- MS O365 Support a plus.
