Director of Insurance

Geronimo Hospitality Group is seeking a Director of Insurance to lead insurance strategy and risk management across our distinctive hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues. This role oversees all property, casualty, liability, and specialty insurance programs, including policy placement, renewals, negotiations, and claims management. The Director will partner closely with Operations, Finance, and HR to align coverage with business growth, control costs, support safety initiatives, and protect our people-first, hospitality-obsessed culture and assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead insurance strategy and program management across hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues
• Oversee placement, renewal, and negotiation of all property, casualty, liability, and specialty policies
• Manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and enterprise risk across the portfolio
• Analyze claims trends, oversee claims handling, and drive loss-prevention initiatives
• Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, and regulatory requirements
• Develop and manage the insurance budget and report exposure and coverage to leadership
• Partner with Operations, Finance, and HR to align coverage with business needs and growth plans
• Maintain accurate schedules of values, certificates of insurance, and policy documentation
• Educate leaders and teams on insurance, incident reporting, and risk management best practices
