Position Overview

Our client, a growing custom manufacturing organization in Southern Wisconsin, is seeking a Robotic Welding Programmer to support expanding automation and robotic welding operations.

This individual will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining robotic welding programs while partnering closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.

The ideal candidate enjoys a hands-on manufacturing environment and thrives on solving technical challenges involving robotics, welding, tooling, fixtures, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and optimize robotic welding programs
• Support robotic weld cell setup, validation, and production launches
• Troubleshoot robotic welding, automation, and process-related issues
• Design and improve tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing operations
• Review engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
• Recommend process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and productivity
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams
• Assist with automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects
• Train operators and technicians on robotic cell operation and best practices
• Support the transition of manual welding processes into automated solutions

Qualifications

• Technical degree, welding certification, or equivalent experience
• Experience programming robotic welding systems
• Background in manufacturing, fabrication, or automated production environments
• Experience with robotic automation and process optimization
• ABB robotic programming experience preferred
• Familiarity with PLCs and automated manufacturing equipment is a plus
• CAD experience (AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works, or similar) preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
