Area Stores Equipment Operator

Responsible for the safe and efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials within yard and warehouse operations. This role operates equipment, maintains organized storage areas, supports inventory accuracy, and performs related clerical tasks. Ensures work is completed in accordance with established procedures and safety standards while supporting training and collaboration across the stores team.

• Operate equipment used for loading and unloading of materials.
• Receive, store, and issue materials and supplies as required.
• Maintain the storage yard/docks in an orderly manner.
• Conduct inventories as required and record variances.
• Perform related routine clerical work, making appropriate entries associated with the movement of materials and assisting with inventories as required.
• Carry out all work according to established company procedures.
• Assist with training of other stores staff in operation of yard equipment.
• Perform other duties which are similar, related or incidental to this position.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Experience in operating yard equipment; mechanical aptitude.

• This position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements under 49 CFR Part 40 and FMCSA regulations (Part 382).

• Familiarity with hooks, slings, and rigging used in the handling of bulky materials or units.
• Good sense of proportions and weights.
• Good perception and coordination.
• Good safety record.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License prior to the end of the trial period.
