Area Stores Equipment Operator

Job Summary

Responsible for the safe and efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials within yard and warehouse operations. Operates equipment, maintains organized storage areas, supports inventory accuracy, and performs related clerical tasks.

• Operates equipment used for loading and unloading of materials.
• Receives, stores, and issues materials and supplies as required.
• Maintains the storage yard/docks in an orderly manner.
• Conducts inventories as required and records variances.
• Performs related routine clerical work, making appropriate entries associated with the movement of materials.
• Assists with training of other stores staff in the operation of yard equipment.
• Performs other duties which are similar, related or incidental to this position.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in operating yard equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Familiar with hooks, slings, and rigging used in handling bulky materials or units.
• Good sense of proportions and weights.
• Good perception and coordination.
• Safety record.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License prior to the end of the trial period.

Position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements under 49 CFR Part 40 and FMCSA regulations (Part 382).

Pay Range: $39.27 - $43.67 per hour. Includes competitive compensation and benefit programs such as comprehensive health and retirement benefits, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.
