The ERP System Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the ERP environment within a stainless tank manufacturing operation. This role works closely with Operations, Production Control, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Engineering, IT, and end users to ensure the ERP system supports accurate planning, production scheduling, material availability, inventory management, reporting, and shop‑floor execution.
This individual will provide functional ERP expertise, support users, troubleshoot issues, develop dashboards and reports, assist with system changes and upgrades, and help integrate automated equipment and real‑time manufacturing data through MES. The role is highly cross‑functional and requires someone who can understand both the system and the manufacturing process behind it.
Key Responsibilities- ERP Administration & Functional Support
- Serve as a key ERP resource for the manufacturing operation, providing functional support, system guidance, and day‑to‑day troubleshooting for end users.
- Learn and understand the existing ERP environment, business processes, and manufacturing practices to provide practical support and recommendations.
- Provide end‑user training and assist employees with ERP questions, issues, workflows, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with end users, Production Control, IT, and management on ERP system upgrades, enhancements, configuration changes, and ongoing system improvements.
- Create and delete user accounts, update account permissions, maintain user profiles, manage page layouts, and support system security information.
- Provide guidance for system changes and enhancements that improve usability, accuracy, and operational performance.
- Production Scheduling & Manufacturing Planning
- Develop production schedules for finished goods, component items, machined parts, and build‑to‑stock subassemblies based on equipment, labor, raw material availability, and customer requirements.
- Provide daily production schedules to manufacturing teams and ensure shop‑floor execution is aligned with the factory plan.
- Coordinate production scheduling of lower‑level items, components, and machined parts to support final assembly and customer ship dates.
- Work with Production Control to ensure the daily operation schedule is met and materials are available when needed.
- Communicate capacity availability and ensure work orders are loaded appropriately based on labor, equipment, material, and schedule constraints.
- Resolve conflicts related to capacity, manpower, equipment, materials, and timing to support target ship dates.
- Materials, Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
- Drive component material demand for Purchasing and monitor availability, lead times, current production schedules, and capacity requirements.
- Balance production and inventory levels with customer demand, inventory turn goals, service levels, and staffing requirements.
