As a Process Manufacturing Technician, you will control or operate machinery or equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line.
You may be expected to handle heavy machinery. This position is located in Beloit, WI and requires you to be able to work 1 month day shift and 1 month night shift.
- Perform physical field work and operate equipment through automated programs (DCS).
- Prepare fermentation and downstream equipment per SOPs, including setup, media make‑up, cleaning, packaging, etc.
- Collect samples during manufacturing for analytical analysis.
- Prepare and follow all steps for standard and evolutionary batch processes, following batch records and noting observations on production conditions.
- Collect and review all batch records; relevant batch data includes in‑process data input and trending, among other items.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day departmental activities, including manufacturing scheduling conflicts, coordinating equipment maintenance and installation activities, troubleshooting process upsets such as equipment and instrumentation issues, process optimization, or addressing other production related concerns.
- Maintain the upkeep of fermentation plant equipment through work notifications/work orders and maintenance scheduling; use your own tools to correct minor maintenance issues.
- Assist with maintenance activities such as rebuilding valves, working on pumps, etc.
- Interface with engineering, maintenance, QAQC, and site leadership to solve production problems.
- Create and modify SOPs for new processes or operations as needed.
- Ensure production compliance with EH&S guidelines and requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in manufacturing for at least 6 months.
- Availability to rotate shifts.
- Follow safety and environmental regulations.
- Perform multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication to work collaboratively within a team.
- Work efficiently and effectively through tasks with minimal overhead management direction.
- Computer experience with MS Office suite.
- Willing and able to do moderate to heavy stair climbing; moderate climbing of vertical and mobile ladders; ability to work above floor surfaces (heights) and lift up to 55 lbs.
- Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required – including a respirator.
- Ability to work 12‑hour rotating days/night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
