In this position the Registered Nurse – Emergency Department will complete nursing duties including triage, assessing and caring for critically ill patients, and working with trauma patients. The RN delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, triage, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with Wisconsin state licensures, policies, procedures, and evidence‑based standards of care. ED nurses critically think, remain calm under pressure, show patience and empathy, and effectively interact with patients and significant others while maintaining a professional nursing standard.
The Registered Nurse Emergency Department will perform triage, consider physical and psychological elements while managing multiple cases simultaneously, and prioritize needs continually. The RN will detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and know when action is necessary in collaboration with the ED healthcare team. The RN will manage basic life support needs and stabilize patients until the physician is available based on policies, protocols, and standards of care.
Job Requirements- Graduate of accredited school of nursing:
Diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN - State of Wisconsin nursing licensure or permit required
- Must be CPR certified within three months of hire
- Successful ACLS completion within six months of hire
- Successful PALS completion within one year of hire
- TNCC or TNS highly recommended
