Overview
Beloit Health System is adding to our team in our Family Care Center with immediate openings for a Registered Nurse at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

Family Care Center
- Monitor the vitals of labor and delivery patients, both mother and baby, including assessing fetal heart rate and maternal health.
- Provide care to laboring mothers including pain management and comforting.
- Assist during the labor at the direction of the physician.
- Provide postpartum care including newborn care and recovery.
- Administer intermittent and continuous IV medications and monitor condition changes to optimize patient recovery and accurately document in the EMR.
- The staff nurse plans, coordinates, supervises and provides care for clients throughout their life span within the framework of the well/illness continuum. This includes optimal service in a cost‑effective manner.
- Appropriately assess basic physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families.
- Effectively plan patient care and consistently implement the patient's plan of care.
- Accurately evaluate the patient's health status in relation to outcomes of nursing interventions/medical therapies.
- Provide patient/family education appropriately.
- Strictly adhere to infection control policies including body substance isolation and blood‑borne pathogen precautions.
- Actively participate in the Quality Improvement program.
- Perform unit‑specific duties according to established unit‑based competencies.
- Complete documentation according to policy.
- Effectively set goals and priorities for provision of care to a group of patients according to acuity.
- Ensure patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protect patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.
- Demonstrate ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to the position. Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable.
- State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact license, application for a State of Wisconsin nursing license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date).
- Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire.
- 1–2 years of medical/surgical experience, labor & delivery experience, or pediatric experience preferred.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certifications to be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- When placed on call during a regular scheduled shift, must be able to arrive at the center within 30 minutes of being called in.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply proper procedures to Beloit Health System policies.
- Employee possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
- Successful completion of pre‑placement physical examination.
- Conduct physical effort that includes full range of body motion which includes standing, walking for extensive periods of time; lift patients up to 25 pounds and push transport carts ranging in weight of 50–200 pounds.
- Require manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.
- Require seeing and hearing at a level sufficient to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Require working in sometimes stressful conditions or irregular hours.
- Require some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
