As a YMCA Sports Coach Volunteer
, you’ll do more than teach the rules—you’ll help young athletes build confidence, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits.
Whether it’s basketball, soccer, T-ball, baseball, or other sports
, our coaches create a fun, supportive environment where every child can grow, learn, and belong.
- Lead practices and games with enthusiasm and positivity
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development
- Be a mentor and role model for youth participants
- Communicate with families and Y staff to ensure a great experience for all
- Make a meaningful impact on kids and families
- Build leadership and communication skills
- Connect with your community through teamwork and fun
- Receive guidance and resources from YMCA staff—no experience required!
