Delivery Driver- CDL Class A

Welders Supply Company (WSC), an established, family-owned distributor of gases, dry ice and welding related products for industrial, medical and commercial uses, is seeking a Delivery Driver (CDL Class

A) with a clean MVR to join our growing company with eight locations in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

This delivery service position is for you if you enjoy being physically active, in front of the customer and behind the wheel. You will be integral to the success of our business and you will be providing a much needed service to local businesses and to our communities. And most importantly, after a hard days' work, you will be home in the evenings to be with your family.

• Organize customer paperwork and fill out delivery reports
• Safely load compressed gas cylinders, dry ice containers, and other product onto the vehicles
• Prepare truck load manifests and deliver products to customers while abiding by load safety, DOT and general safe driving guidelines
• Unload and deliver compressed gas cylinders and dry ice containers at customer locations and pick up empty containers and cylinders
• Courteously listen to customer issues and communicate those issues to the appropriate personnel
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of assigned vehicles, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and complete vehicle inspection log
• Perform other duties to insure safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction

• Class A CDL with manual transmission, hazmat and airbrakes endorsements
• Safe driving record as exhibited by state MVR reports
• Mentally alert with ability to communicate in English and effectively plan
• Basic mathematical skills
• Read road signs from a distance and text that is close up
• Freely traverse company and customer premises and lift/move products, sometimes in excess of 100 pounds using the appropriate lifting devices
• Ascend and descend trucks, ladders and stairs while delivering product
• Bend, reach and reposition self to move materials and shift equipment
