Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. Report to the Plasma Center Manager and support plasma center operations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable results.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, coordinating with the Center Physician and emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health or ER.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to local pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities are assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum of two years clinical or hospital experience.
Hourly wage: $24.32 - $33.44 U.S. (may vary by qualifications and location). Eligible for short‑term incentives, 401(k) match, health, dental, vision, short‑ and long‑term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. U.S. employees may receive up to 80 hours of sick time and 120 hours of paid vacation per calendar year.
