Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician
RMH Systems, one of the Midwest's largest material handling, packaging, robotics, and industrial scale distributors, is seeking a well-organized and self-motivated person to join our team as a maintenance technician for our scale division in Belton, MO.
This position requires strong mechanical skills, a troubleshooting mentality, and electrical experience is a plus. Applicants will need a strong work ethic, solid people skills, and the ability to work well independently and with others. They must have strong attention to detail, good oral and written English, and a clear, polite, and helpful personality when dealing with customers and colleagues. The role consists primarily of servicing, preventative maintenance, and installing all types of industrial scales (truck, floor, and bench).
Technicians are provided a company vehicle. A CDL is required at the time of hire, or must be obtained within the first 90 days. On‑job training and manufacturer training are provided.

Pay ranges from $20 to $35 per hour, based on experience level. Technicians are eligible for an annual bonus that pays out between $3,000 and $8,000 based on labor billings, paid quarterly.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities:
- Performs diagnostics, service repairs, and preventative maintenance on industrial scales in manufacturing settings, floor scales, and truck scales at customer sites. Travels to different customer locations. Company truck is provided.
- Works as part of a cohesive team within the shop to meet customer needs, including assisting, mentoring, or sharing knowledge with other technicians.
- Performs emergency repair of malfunctioning equipment at customer sites.
- Participates in equipment installations as needed.
- Completes annual inspection programs for customers.
- Engages in one‑on‑one customer interaction, maintains communication, answers questions, and makes recommendations for additional work.
- Coordinates with inside sales to order replacement parts as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of existing products and pursues additional technical and product knowledge through manufacturer and on‑the‑job training.
- Completes service reports explaining the reason for the call, equipment info, and work performed; completes any other required paperwork based on state regulations.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- An associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- 2 years of mechanical experience required; electrical experience preferred.
- Must attain State Scale Technician License within first 6 months. Paid training is provided.
- Ability to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment following technical manuals and diagnostic procedures.
- Valid Driver’s License required; eligible to drive per state law based on office location.
- CDL required, or must obtain within first 90 days of employment.

- 10‑20% overnight travel as needed.
