Position Summary

The Customer Service Specialist serves as a key point of contact for customers, supporting order processing, communication, and issue resolution within a fast-paced, order-driven manufacturing environment. This role works closely with internal teams including sales, production, and shipping to ensure accurate order fulfillment and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries via phone and email
  • Process and manage customer orders with accuracy using internal systems (ERP/CRM)
  • Provide order updates, delivery timelines, and general product/service support
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, production, shipping) to meet customer requirements
  • Identify and resolve customer issues; escalate complex concerns as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, orders, and documentation
  • Support the sales team with administrative follow-up and customer communication
  • Meet service level expectations for response time, accuracy, and professionalism
  • Contribute to process improvements within customer service workflows
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of customer service or administrative experience in a professional environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, metals, industrial, or distribution environments
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) for order entry and tracking
  • Background supporting B2B customers
  • Experience coordinating across internal departments such as operations, production, or logistics
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts
Work Environment
  • Onsite role in TX
  • Office-based with occasional exposure to a manufacturing environment
  • Standard business hours with flexibility during peak production periods
  • Must be able to follow all safety and PPE requirements when entering production areas
