OverviewThe Belton School District is looking to hire permanent substitute teachers for the upcoming school year as part of a Grow Your Own Initiative. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Minimum of an Associates Degree or 60 college credit hours (if enrolled in a teacher education program), BS preferred
- Enrolled in an education program/actively pursuing a career in teaching
- Willingness to attend training (possible summer dates may apply)
These positions are designed as a segue to a teaching position within the district. It is expected that within a reasonable amount of time, district permanent subs will have completed their education and begin interviewing for teaching positions within the District.
Permanent substitute positions are non‑exempt, 184‑day classified positions (teacher schedule) assigned to specific buildings. Positions are paid an hourly wage on an annualized basis and include full benefits. On occasion, the position may be temporarily reassigned for emergency coverage situations.
Buildings needing Permanent Building Substitutes:
Scott Education Center & Wilckens STEAM Academy at Hillcrest.
Starting pay (depending on related experience): $23.21/hour – $32.02/hour.
