The Loan Officer role at Extraco Banks is a full-time, on-site position based in Texas. This role is responsible for originating and managing consumer and commercial loan applications, meeting with customers to understand their financial needs, and recommending appropriate loan products. Day-to-day tasks include assessing creditworthiness, analyzing financial information, preparing loan proposals, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
The Loan Officer will maintain ongoing communication with customers throughout the loan process, coordinate with internal underwriting and processing teams, and actively build a portfolio through referrals and local business development. Success in this role involves delivering clear guidance to customers, managing deadlines efficiently, and supporting overall branch performance and growth.
- Ability to conduct financial analysis, evaluate creditworthiness, and interpret income, collateral, and debt information.
- Strong customer service, relationship management, and communication skills to interact effectively with diverse clients and colleagues.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple loan files, documentation requirements, and deadlines.
- Basic proficiency with banking systems, loan origination software, and standard office applications (e.g., word processing and spreadsheets).
- Knowledge of consumer and commercial lending principles, banking regulations, and compliance standards is preferred.
- Prior experience in banking, lending, or financial services is beneficial; sales or business development experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is advantageous.
- Ability to work on-site in Belton, TX, collaborate with branch staff, and engage with the local community.
