EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE:
Possible educational incentive of 2.5%, 3.5%, or 5% based on completion of Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree.

BILINGUAL INCENTIVE:
Possible Bilingual incentive depending on the applicable MOA and the needs of the department.

Licensed Mental Health Associates are represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and are eligible for overtime compensation.

NOTE:

This class is within a bargaining unit that is subject to an "agency shop" arrangement, which mandates all regular employees either join Local 721 of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and pay dues as a member, or pay either a "service fee" to Local 721 or direct that an amount equivalent to the "service fee" be distributed to a qualified charitable organization.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill current and future regular, temporary, fixed-term and extra-help vacancies for this position within Health Care Agency .

Examples Of Duties

• Teach relevant social and daily living skills, provide supportive counseling.
• Participate as a team member in client evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of approved treatment plans.
• Serve as a client advocate and assist clients in using community resources.
• All the above activities will be supervised by a Psychiatric Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse, Clinical Psychologist or a Psychiatrist.

Typical Qualifications These are entrance requirements to the examination process and assure neither continuance in the process nor placement on an eligible list.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, And EXPERIENCE Two (2) years experience as a Senior Psychiatric Technician or equivalent, direct patient care in a mental health setting. Certain positions may require specific specialized experience.

Substitution One (1) year of the experience requirement may be met by substituting a Bachelor's degree in Social-Behavioral Sciences including psychology, social work, or sociology.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT(S) Requires the handling of medication and therefore, requires a valid Psychiatric Technician (PT), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) License.
