Mental Health Clinician

Position Description

This is a responsible professional position at the Bell County Jail in Belton, TX
. Specific duties include testing, psychological evaluation, and diagnostic services, as well as counseling an assigned patient caseload. This position functions under the supervision of a higher-level licensed psychologist or psychiatrist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for higher actions and advice.

• Mental health screening and assessment:
  Completes timely and clinically sound mental health screenings and assessments using approved tools.
• Manage patient caseload:
  Effectively manages an assigned caseload by providing consistent clinical contact, monitoring progress, and updating treatment plans as needed.
• Facilitate counseling sessions:
  Facilitates individual and group therapy counseling sessions.
• Documentation:
  Completes all clinical documentation accurately and objectively.
• Crisis Intervention:
  Responds promptly and effectively to mental health crises.
• Other duties as assigned:
  Willingly performs all other assignments as directed by the superior.

Master's degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university

• Experience in a correctional environment.
• Prior experience working with individuals with different backgrounds.
