The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor seeks qualified Christian employees for this position.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the daily administration of assigned employee benefits and records to ensure accuracy, completeness and legal compliance. Manages new employee enrollment, separating employee disenrollment, annual enrollment, and related activities. Manages Benefits Section of the UMHB website. Maintains assigned records, contracts/agreements and related documents. Performs periodic employee and vendor benefits records audits. Manages benefits continuance elections. Facilitates benefits claims to include prompt customer service to employees and timely communication with TPA.
Manages employee benefit leave programs such as FMLA and job-related injury leave including accurate records and correspondence and legal/policy compliance. Facilitates the university’s worker’s compensation claims in collaboration with the insurance carrier. Assures strict confidentiality in all benefits transactions.
- Must be an active and committed Christian who will support the University’s mission and who will be an active participant in their local church.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. An Associate degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience as outlined in # 2 below may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in employee benefits management is required, to include at a minimum, insurance enrollment design and implementation, FMLA and worker’s compensation case management, and management of benefits legal compliance. Strongly prefer experience in an employer-sponsored self-insured medical plan environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) is required.
- Must be proficient in general office equipment operation.
- Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
- Must agree to the University's Employee Statement of Understanding.
