JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology, this position serves to assist in the installation and maintenance of personnel computers, related peripherals and devices, telecommunication equipment, and other electronic office equipment. The IT Systems Analyst also monitors, installs, supports, and troubleshoots all hardware/software for all City staff.

- Provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers. Hardware and software installation and troubleshooting, inventory control, assessing maintenance needs in light of warranty contracts, working with vendors on warranty issues, and assisting end-users with the use of standard software applications.
- Maximize customer service by informal one-on-one training in standard applications and overall desktop usage. Coordinate projects which facilitate use of core application with end users.
- Implement software and security standards established by City staff. This includes making sure the City’s standard software is installed on all desktops and that no unauthorized software is installed. Implement the security and network standards established by the Network Administrator.
- Train staff on new IT related equipment.
- Provide quality customer service to City staff, the general public, and all other work contacts.
- Monitor daily call volume. Establish and track performance measurements for customer service.
- Keep up with technology trends relevant to job responsibilities; use research tools to troubleshoot and make recommendations for system optimization; document research finds; and document work done on systems.
- Perform preventative and optimization measures on desktop system.
- Use a tracking database to organize work assignments and track and document progress.
- Performs all job duties according to all approved safety rules and procedures.
- Promptly reports all accidents, injuries, theft, loss, and broken/damaged equipment/property to their immediate supervisor. Reports or corrects all unsafe practices or conditions they observe to their immediate supervisor.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential.
Requires AAS degree in Computer Science, GIS, MIS, or a closely related field; and two years’ experience in a related field; or any combination of related education and experience.
Licenses and/or certifications- Comptia Network and/or A+ HW/SW preferred.
- Possession of a valid Texas driver’s license.
- Business process analysis and project management techniques for systems implementation projects.
- Procedures and processes involved in administering organization-wide technology training.
- Handle information restricted to specific persons and is aware of meaning and consequences of improper administration or release.
- Read and understand technical manuals, policies and procedures, and system documentation.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Appraise situations accurately and quickly, and recommend an effective course of action.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, clients, citizens, and vendors.
- Provide own transportation for travel between City facilities to assist departmental personnel with computer matters.
- Be punctual and regular in attendance.
