The Finisher II is responsible for performing standard and advanced post‑process surface finishing operations such as support removal, sanding, media blasting, polishing, non‑cosmetic paint, hole tapping, insert installation, and basic assembly of 3D‑printed parts to achieve desired aesthetics and functionality. The role also includes performing part count, quality inspection, and adhering to specific work orders and work instructions, while maintaining strict safety protocols and a clean, organized work environment.
Whatyou will be doing:
- Prepare parts for finishing
- Review files and follow work order instructions and customer blueprints to ensure finished part meets customer requirements
- Use electric and hand tools such as sanders and drills to smooth surfaces and create holes
- Perform finishing techniques for prototype and production parts with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate knowledge of different material types and the required finishing techniques for each
- Complete insert installation, hole tapping, and assembly tasks
- Perform segment bonding on oversized parts
- Utilize hand tools to touch‑up parts before turning in finished work
- Conduct basic 6‑point inspection with minimal supervision where required
- Use Solid Jobs and Solid View for production workflow
- Track shipment schedules and dates
- Comply with the Quality Management System and all standard operating procedures for department and ISO, ITAR, and aerospace requirements
- Maintain traceability of all parts in build by completing required paperwork and verifying quantity and serialization when needed
- Complete and properly sign off on all paperwork and computer work for each job
- Accurately record critical manufacturing information such as material manufacture date and serial number
- Identify and report faulty parts based on work orders
- Address production problems with lead or supervisor
- Perform housekeeping and cleanup duties upon completion of assigned tasks and actively participate in maintaining a clean, safe work area
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects
- Strictly adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and attend all required training
- Demonstrate commitment to Stratasys Behaviors by leading, acting, and modeling these values
- Perform other responsibilities assigned by the department or manager
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency
- Advanced math skills
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office and email)
- Previous experience working with fine motor skills and a keen sense of detail
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and craftsmanship
- 2‑3 years of measurement experience using hand tools
- 2‑3 years of experience working with shop equipment, including drill press, hand drills, sanders, UV lighting, etc.
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience on end‑use parts
- Experience with precision measurement equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and customer drawings (preferred but not required)
