Introduction
Belton Regional Medical Center is hiring new graduate nurses for the HCA Nurse Residency Program. This year‑long, paid program provides hands‑on clinical training and formal learning experiences that support the transition from student nurse to registered nurse.
Program DetailsThe program includes:
- Advanced clinical training in a specialty area.
- Monthly educational sessions.
- Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor.
- Hands‑on simulations for skill assessment.
- Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders.
- Evidence‑based practice project collaboration.
- Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively resolve patient needs.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s condition, treatment plan, medications, side‑effects, and follow‑up measures. Translate complex medical terminology into plain language.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
- Other certifications as required during employment.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing completed prior to start date (applications accepted up to 8 months in advance).
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State within 90 days of graduation per State of Missouri guidelines.
- No previous experience needed.
