Office Administrator/ Coordinator, Clerical
Founded only 30 years ago, Atlantic Restoration & Waterproofing, Inc. has become the largest and most trusted historic restoration contractor in the Washington DC metro area. With over 250 full time employees across office and field positions, we specialize in stone, masonry, concrete, waterproofing, and roofing. We have worked on many landmark projects across the DC, MD, VA region including the Lincoln & Jefferson Memorials, FBI Headquarters, The Federal Reserve Bank, and the National Building Museum, among many others.
We work directly with many government agencies such as the GSA, USACE, DOD, NAVFAC, and many more. At Atlantic, we are committed to preserving our country’s most timeless buildings.
We're hiring an Office Coordinator to run the front office at our Beltsville, MD headquarters: answering and routing phone calls, handling mail and office supplies, greeting job applicants (many of whom speak only Spanish) and walking them through the application, and helping with administrative tasks for back office staff, including HR, finance, and more.
This role does not require prior office, HR, or construction experience. It requires someone who shows up on time every day without being told, who double-checks a form before handing it off instead of guessing, and who treats a Spanish-speaking applicant standing at the front desk with the same care as a phone call from the owner. You'll be trained on every task here;
work ethic and follow-through are the two things we can't train.
- Answer and route incoming calls, greet visitors, and manage the front desk during business hours
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages; prepare outgoing mail and shipments
- Order and stock office and kitchen supplies, and keep the office presentable
- Greet job applicants in English or Spanish and walk them through the application
- Help schedule interviews and coordinate with HR on applicant follow-up
- Support HR, finance, and warehouse staff with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing routine employee requests
- Take on new responsibilities as you prove reliable with existing ones; real room to grow into broader HR or office-management work
- No prior office, HR, or construction industry experience required
- No specific degree or certification required
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish
- Strong work ethic and reliability: on time, every day, no exceptions
- Comfortable on the phone and in person with people from many backgrounds
- Organized and detail-oriented; can follow a process without being reminded
- Eager to learn and take direction; asks questions rather than guessing
