Job description:
MUST BE LOCATED within Prince George’s County area, Beltsville, MD, AND HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH SCHOOL-AGE YOUTH. A Sewing & Fashion Design instructor is needed to teach students ranging from K-8 during the School Year. Sewing & Fashion Design; open to various Sewing & Fashion Design techniques. This position is for in-person instruction. Pay ranges from $50.00-$60.00 depending on experience, and Classes are in two 8-week sessions.
Also, may have multiple contracts at multiple sites.

Days:Wednesdays Times: 2:30pm - 3:30pm
Sewing & Fashion Design teacher needed to teach the basics of sewing and fashion design. A material budget will be provided, and 2+ sewing machines will be available depending on students’ ability.

MajorResponsibilities
- Develop and implement an arts program that enables youth to develop their creativity.
- Contribute to effectively planning programs, services, and activities.
- Instruct, coach, and direct varied activities.
- Implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for assigned programs.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative within general policy guidelines.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Contribute to programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success.
- Contribute to creating a team environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.
- Contribute to ensuring a healthy and safe environment.
- Contribute to ensuring that facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained.
Skills:
- High School diploma
- Ability to obtain a clear background check within the agency’s timeline.
- A minimum of one year of experience working with creative and visual art programs.
- Use of equipment and tools related to work.
- Principles related to the development of youth.
- Group leadership skills and understanding of group dynamics.
- Experience with various forms of sewing (hand/machine/embroidery, etc.)
