What You’ll Do

We are seeking a highly motivated Network Security Engineer to support technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, risk analysis, and operational support activities for complex enterprise systems. This role will contribute to the full system lifecycle, from concept development and design through installation, operations, maintenance, and disposal.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to translate customer and operational requirements into effective, scalable system solutions while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

This is a hybrid position with 2-3 days per week work from a customer facility in Beltsville, MD.

This position supports a mission‑focused technical environment requiring collaboration across engineering, operations, and program management teams. Candidates should be comfortable working in dynamic environments with evolving technical priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform technical planning and systems engineering activities
  • Support system integration, verification, and validation efforts
  • Manage, monitor, and optimize network traffic visibility for NDR platforms across enterprise environments
  • Support network architecture reviews, packet analysis, and traffic flow troubleshooting to improve threat detection capabilities
  • Collaborate with network engineering teams on switch, router, firewall, and IDS/IPS integrations supporting NDR operations
  • Analyze network telemetry, packet captures (PCAPs), Net Flow, and other network data sources to identify security threats and performance issues
  • Conduct cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses
  • Analyze systems across all lifecycle phases, including:
    • Concept development
    • Design and fabrication
    • Testing and installation
    • Operations and maintenance
    • System disposal and transition
  • Translate customer and product requirements into total system solutions
  • Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and program leadership
  • Support troubleshooting, operational analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure technical solutions align with mission and program objectives
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or a related technical discipline:
    Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Related scientific or technical field
  • Candidates must possess one or more of the following certifications: CASP+ CE, CCNA Security, CISSP (or Associate of CISSP), CND, CSSLP, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP
  • 5+ Years of hands‑on experience with systems engineering lifecycle
  • 3+ years of experience with Network Detection & Response (NDR) tools
  • Active Secret clearance (or higher) is required
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a High‑Risk Public Trust (HRPT) clearance.
