The Bowers Group, a Legence company, is seeking an experienced Project Executive to support mechanical and plumbing construction projects from concept through bid submission. This position is responsible for developing accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates while partnering closely with operations, project management, vendors, and clients.
This position works onsite daily in Beltsville, MD and may be union or non union.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed and accurate mechanical and/or plumbing estimates for commercial and industrial projects
- Analyze drawings, MEP specifications, and bid documents to develop complete scopes of work
- Utilize estimating software (Quote Express, Auto Bid/Auto Bid Pro, or similar platforms) to generate pricing
- Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Identify constructability issues, scope gaps, and potential cost risks
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams during preconstruction
- Participate in bid reviews, value engineering efforts, and proposal preparation
- Maintain historical cost data and lessons learned to improve estimating accuracy
- Provide post bid support and assist with project handoff
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of estimating experience in mechanical and/or plumbing construction
- Strong proficiency with Quote Express, Auto Bid/Auto Bid Pro (or Auto Bid Visual), and MS Office Suite
- Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting MEP specifications and construction drawings
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- U.S. work authorization required, no visa sponsorship available
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service experience with internal and external partners
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team based environment
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
- Field experience in mechanical or plumbing construction
- Experience with scheduling, takeoffs, and cost databases
- Ability to mentor junior estimators
- Onsite position based in Beltsville, MD
- Typical working hours for this role are 7am – 5pm
- Compensation $175,000 - $200,000
