QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE DESIRED
PEL with General Administrative endorsement.
SALARY RANGE$95,500.00/year; commensurate with experience.
Reports toDistrict Superintendent and/or designee.
Qualifications/SkillsPEL with a General Administrative or Principal endorsement. Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience preferred.
Terms of EmploymentTen (10) Month Employee.
SupervisionCertified Staff, Non-Certified Staff, Educational Support Personnel, and Assistant Principal, if applicable.
Basic FunctionThe Elementary School Principal serves as the instructional leader and chief administrator of the school. Under the direction of the Superintendent and/or designee, the Principal is responsible for the overall operation of the building with a primary focus on improving instruction, supporting staff development, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment for all students.
Performance Responsibilities- Instructional Leadership
- Lead and support the implementation of curriculum aligned to district initiatives and state standards.
- Conduct classroom observations, evaluations, and walkthroughs to support continuous improvement.
- Analyze student data to inform instructional decisions and school improvement planning.
- Facilitate professional learning opportunities for staff.
- Supervise, evaluate, and support certified and educational support personnel.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of staff.
- Recommend personnel actions, including remediation, non-renewal, discipline, or dismissal.
- Student Management
- Oversee student registration, placement, and discipline in accordance with Board policy.
- Promote positive student behavior and social-emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with families and support staff to address student needs.
- Operations and Safety
- Ensure compliance with Board policy, administrative procedures, and the Illinois School Code.
- Maintain building safety, emergency procedures, and required drills.
- Supervise facilities, auxiliary services, and daily building operations.
- Community and Communication
- Communicate effectively with families, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Support positive school–community relations and family engagement.
- Serve as a district representative at meetings and events.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
