As an Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design and development of complex electrical systems for building projects, taking ownership of electrical system design, analysis, and coordination. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and consultants, and help ensure the successful delivery of projects from conceptual design through construction completion. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical accuracy and overall quality of the electrical aspects of the project.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for various building types, ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, IECC, and other applicable local and national standards
  • Oversee and serve as the Engineer of Record for applicable project disciplines.
  • Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and coordination studies using Easy Power or similar software for projects nationwide
  • Develop and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD, integrating designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural systems. BIM models using Revitare a plus
  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs, including coordination with local utilities for project locations.
  • Conduct site visits for installation reviews, system evaluations, and commissioning support across project locations
  • Review submittals, shop drawing,s and specifications for electrical systems, ensuring quality and compliance
  • Assist in budgeting, cost estimatin,g and project scheduling for electrical system designs and installations for national projects
  • Provide technical reports, documentation, and mentorship to junior engineers on code compliance, permitting, and design best practices
  • Support value engineering efforts to optimize designs for energy efficiency and sustainability, aligning with national standards like ASHRAE
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Some travel should be anticipated for local and/or national projects
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, with willingness to perform as Engineer of Record
  • NCEES Record holder
  • Minimum 7-10 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Proven experience applying National Electrical Code and local amendments, as well as other standards (NFPA, IECC)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM modeling a plus
  • Expertise in Easy Power or similar power system analysis software for load calculations and studies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, low-voltage, lighting, and fire alarm system design
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu for markups, document management, and collaboration
  • Experience performing quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications
  • Field experience in system installation, troubleshooting, or commissioning
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects across different regions
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE license in additional states (or ability to be licensed in other states)
  • Field experience with building automation system (BAS) integration, troubleshooting, or commissioning
  • Familiarity with mechanical design (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) for integrated MEP coordination
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working independently, with a high level of initiative.
Working Conditions

• Casual office environment with occasional site visits.

Collaborative team environment working with mechanical & electrical engineers, architects, structural engineers, and other consultants.

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $90k - $130k per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills. This is a good-faith estimate and subject to negotiation. Other compensation will include continuing ed and professional fee coverage, discretionary bonuses and safe-harbor 401K contributions.
