Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using straightedges, squares, calipers, and rulers;
Examine work pieces for defects and measure to ensure conformance with specifications;
Set up and operate fabricating machines (brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drill presses) to form and assemble components;
Weld or tack-weld parts to form complete units or subunits as needed following blueprints;
Maintain safe work habits and keep work area clean;
Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences
