Job TitleMaintenance Mechanic – Belvidere, IL
Schedule & Shift- 12‑hour shifts:
Day shift 5:45 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.;
Night shift 5:45 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. - Currently hiring for nights.
- Shift schedule changes available after 6 months.
- Rotating schedule: 5 on / 3 off / 2 on / 5 off / 4 on / 2 off / 3 on / 4 off.
- Alternating workweeks: 48‑hour weeks and 36‑hour weeks.
- Average 42 hours per week; overtime and any shift as needed, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency events.
- Plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Regular 2–5 day breaks built into the rotation.
- Predictable schedule supporting work‑life balance, rest, and personal commitments.
- Overtime opportunities available.
- Example rotation pattern provided (actual assigned days may vary).
$29.77 per hour + $2.00 per hour night shift differential

- Install, maintain, repair, and replace industrial processing and packaging machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Provide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and modifications.
- Understand, initiate, and participate in Root Cause Analysis (Why, Why).
- Perform uptime and downtime preventative maintenance.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Collaborate with high‑level operators on experienced teams to pass down knowledge.
- High school education or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance or related industry experience.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of electrical motors, gearboxes, and components; troubleshooting skills using a multimeter and specialized tools.
- Manufacturing/Production environment experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Perform physical tasks for extended periods: standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting.
- Climb and/or work at heights using stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.
- Wear protective clothing and equipment: safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, hair/beard net, gloves as required.
- Adhere to grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment.
- Work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet conditions.
- Work around industrial high‑speed moving machinery.
- Work with potential allergens present in a food environment.
