Associate Operator, Production - Fermentation

Location:

Belvidere, NJ

Onsite

12‑Hour Rotating Shifts

As an Associate Operator, you will be responsible for producing quality intermediates and finished products according to a pre‑determined operations plan, operating process equipment in accordance with Key Performance Measures, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety/regulatory requirements, and Site goals.

This position is overtime eligible. Candidates must be able to work shifts, weekends, overtime (including coverage) and holidays as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor equipment and processes to produce quality intermediates and finished products according to the operations plan. Identify equipment/process problems and improvement opportunities and communicate findings as appropriate. Make necessary adjustments to react to process changes or optimize performance.
  • Obtain and inspect finished/in‑process product and perform sampling and testing as required.
  • Operate a forklift, subdivide/dispense raw materials, and perform material handling activities (e.g., loading trailers, manually dumping bags/drums of ingredients and reprocessed material, packaging finished product).
  • Perform general housekeeping/maintenance of process areas (e.g., painting, cleaning). Perform the principles of Manufacturing Excellence (Manufex) environment, including minor equipment repair.
  • Maintain process and equipment documentation for tracking Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Review batch sheets for accuracy. Prepare final product labels and maintain label control.
  • Provide input to Department Management to assist with nonconformance investigations and prepare associated documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

You Bring
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment on a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule.
  • Ability to operate computers.
  • Proficiency in Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Mixing, Blending, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Machine Setups for Production Runs.
  • High School / GED as applicable.

The salary or hourly wage scale reflects the pay range dsm‑firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Hourly $23.00 - $24.00. In addition to base salary, a comprehensive total rewards package is offered, including annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs, and other benefits subject to eligibility requirements.
