Position SummaryThis position is a second shift position. Perform quality assurance activities to ensure product conformance. Primary responsibilities include inspection and testing, line audits, and quality-related support to Manufacturing, Engineering, Sort, and other departments. This position will also perform verification of corrective actions and support new hire quality training.
Responsibilities- Conduct inspections and/or tests to verify product conformance. Work with set-ups (grain flows), parts in process (heat treat inspection), finished product (final inspection, including embrittlement and drive torque tests), subcontracted parts, or tooling.
- Write IMI on parts that do not meet specification. Ensure discrepant products are tagged. Complete all re-inspections. Communicate with responsible departments or suppliers regarding discrepancies.
- Report nonconformance and determine dispositions and process deviations. Initiate or take key roles in problem resolution, improvement activities, and prevention measures.
- Perform internal audits and assist the Supervisor during external audits including corrective measures.
- Perform and support SPC activities, including new hire operator training.
- Initiate, complete, or verify records documenting quality assurance activities to ensure compliance to internal procedures, customer requirements and ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 14001, and IATF
16949 standards.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years experience in a quality position in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with gauges, measuring equipment, and testing equipment including, but not limited to, micrometers, tri-roll gauges and optical comparators.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Previous experience in fastener industry a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of SPC.
