Shipping & Receiving Associate

Position Summary

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

• Load and unload trucks at the Distribution Center
• Count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
• Receive incoming orders into the ERP system
• Weigh and measure outbound freight to calculate freight class
• Assist with freight quotes and prepare Bills of Lading
• Pick product from warehouse racking and prep for shipment
• Utilize UPS & Fed Ex Desktop software to process package shipments
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
• Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
• Perform all other duties as assigned

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1-3 years shipping & receiving experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
• Ability to work independently with minimal instruction is essential
• Flexibility, dependability and good organizational skills required
• Computer/Typing skills, proficiency at managing Excel spreadsheets
• Experience with ERP systems

Able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time; use of hands and arms constantly, able to climb, balance, stoop, or kneel and frequent heavy lifting up to 70 pounds.
