Summary

This position will be responsible for accounting and billing responsibilities for Kraus-Anderson (KA) Yard operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Calculates and provides all billing for Kraus Anderson Yard Operations services.
  • Completes monthly billing activities of consumables and equipment in billing and production systems.
  • Partners with Accounting to complete monthly billing of KA Superintendent Trucks and ensure proper payment to vendors.
  • Generate, review, and distribute invoices to clients based on contracts or project completion.
  • Tracks movement of all chargeable fleet vehicles and trailers and provides current and accurate data for billing.
  • Maintains record of tools assigned to field personnel and provides monthly reports as requested by field or office staff.
  • Provides backup to City Desk (answering yard phone lines, distribution of equipment, tools, and consumables in support of field personnel based on requests from Superintendent, Project Managers, and General Superintendents).
  • Prepares purchase orders (PO) for field and all offices.
System Support and Report Writing
  • Verifies correct input of billing data, including client information, rates, and payment terms are entered into the system.
  • Provides Project Accounting with reports of tool/cost and coding as assigned to projects and Superintendents.
  • Provides guidance on procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, and operational access of records for multiple systems utilized by KA Yard Operations.
  • Responsible for setup and closeout of projects, and vendor setup.
  • Generates other reports as requested by leadership.
Documentation and Compliance
  • Updates and maintains all production rate sheets.
  • Assists with maintaining equipment maintenance records.
  • Tracks vendor rebate programs.
  • Ensures all necessary regulatory posters are stocked for posted on jobsites and Yard office (OSHA compliance).
Office Support
  • Handles customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Participates in project kick‑off meetings as needed.
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving as needed.
  • Provides assistance with yearly apparel allocation and apparel as needed.
  • Assists KA personnel with walk‑in orders.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
  • 3‑5 years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Access and Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
